Chocolate cheesecake so good, it’ll satisfy your cravings

Seriously, do you? Have you ever laid in your bed and fantasied about what food you want to either go get or cook in the morning?

Well it may be just me (but if we are being honest here I think you have probably thought awful hard about food while laying in bed. I don’t judge) but I have been wanting some cheesecake. Like really good cheesecake. Not made from a box (nothing wrong with it, I just don’t want that one).

Well I finally sat down yesterday and found a recipe that I was willing to try. You see, I was browsing on Facebook during nap time yesterday when I stumbled upon this really good looking chocolate cheesecake from the Tasty page. (Check out all the videos I linked because they have some AH-MAZING recipes) I thought to myself hmmm this looks really good, I need to try it sometime.

Then when I got off work, I was like I’m going to actually make a special treat for myself and my boyfriend. I got the ingredients and it went to town making it when I got home.  The recipe itself had actual measurements, but I decided to tweak it a little so I’m going to give you what I used 🙂

Typically when I make cheesecake I use a graham cracker crust, however this time the recipe inspired me to use a rice crispy crust. It turned out amazing.

Chocolate Cheesecake Recipe

Ingredients:

Crust:

5.5 cups of rice crispy cereal

10 oz marshmellow

1/4 cup melted butter

Melt the marshmellow and butter and add in the cereal. Then press it in the bottom of the pan. I used a springform pan and it worked out perfectly. However I made the mistake of not fully mixing it all together so it made it difficult to not use my hands to spread it out evenly.

Filling:

16 oz cream cheese softened

1/2 teaspoon of vanilla

1 cup of sugar

I mixed all these together first. I really wish I hadn’t used my whisk to do this because that was a mess lol, however when I used my mixer everything worked out very well.

12 oz of semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup of heavy cream

I melted these two together and then added them in to my mixer and mixed it very well.

I refrigerated overnight.

 

In my opinion it was the better choice to refrigerate overnight. When I came home and tried a piece it was so good and it made a really good cheesecake.

The chocolate cheesecake is a must if you have any sort of chocolate craving. I myself just needed one piece to cure my cravings and I’m good!
